Okay kids here's a random idea! I ran across this Month of Service paper that I did in Relief Society years!!! ago with our kids. It was actually fun as we would take each little block and do something for someone that day, or week, or hour. One of the ones some of our children will remember is paying for ice cream cones for the people in the next car that would drive up. It was fun to just see the expression on the people's faces that were waiting on us as we told them what we wanted to do. One day, I recall someone in our ward saying they went to Arctic Circle and someone had paid for their ice cream cones they wanted to purchase. So they in turn paid for the next car. I haven't tried this in Utah, but I thought it would be fun to try again when I have the grandkids with us.

What have been some on your favorite service activities with your young families?

Randomness.....

I'm full of questions/comments tonight.....

1st---WHY does my blog say that I have a new post as of 3 days ago (on my Everything-Ellis blog) . I have some less than 24 hours old...hmmm. AND...I need to get more people's comments on there....it's not the best one you've ever seen...but it's fun to put down some memories! C'mon people..I need some help! lol

2nd....it seems like we're losing the chatting we had on the my family website. C'mon guys...let's keep it up. What can we do/change? Is this format not working for people?

3rd...ummmm......someone want to take a few kids off my hands???? Enough said!

4th....I'm excited I get to go to the Stampin' Up convention on Wed. right after work. I just finished making 52 cards to take with me and I need to come up with another design and then make about 50 more. I know---last minute lucy!

5th...I did make 9 dinners today----how's THAT?? (all for my family and 8 went in the freezer)

6th...I've cut back to ONE Pepsi a day...that's it..... 1 12 oz can of Diet Pepsi Lime....I think I'm on my 2nd week---although it seems like waaaaay longer! Is that why I'm grouchy? hehehe

7th...I think it's my bedtime...some dumb people behind us shot off approximately 75 ILLEGAL fireworks starting from 9:30-MIDNIGHT!!! GRRRRRRR. They were SO loud---woke up most of the kids. I should have called the cops---but it was one of those debates inside my head....well...it's not like it's an EMERGENCY so I shouldn't call 911....but if I call the main number--they probably aren't there....hmmm....well...I'm SURE they are almost done. wow...that makes 76....I'm sure that's got to be it for the night....it IS midnight after all....oh there is 77, 78, and 79. Yep----the voices DO talk to me. I apparently didn't listen to them last night.

8th---wish I could think of MORE random things...but I think that's it.

9th...I lied! Here's a funny thing. I've been working on getting Jaycee to cut her stringy hair. She doesn't like it up and I dont' like it down. She's been asking for a slushy which is a good luxury these days. I blurted out...well..I'll get one if you cut your hair. Wow....could it REALLY have been that easy??? She said YES! We're on our way tomorrow!!!! I'll remember that NEXT time!!!

10th....well..I didn't have anything else to say...but who stops a list at 9???

Logan

I think you will get a good laugh out of this. My boy is hilarious. He was playing with my camera on sunday waiting for the rest of us to get ready for church, and this is what we did.

Grandpa Ellis

Well folks, just to let everyone know what a great sport Grandpa was! We went to Wendell this weekend to put up an awning and some screen doors for them and found out how dizzy and light-headed Grandpa was Saturday! No wonder he was hanging on for dear life! Ha! Kim and I were talking and thought it was pretty awesome for someone Grandpa's age to go ahead and do this adventure with his family that day. I knew he wasn't being himself and just thought he didn't like the ride. I heard Lynette got sick, too, and sorry to hear about that. It was very cold Friday night and I don't think we were expecting it to be so cold. Hope everyone recuperates quickly. Love ya!

More pictures of the Reunion...

Gabe and Linzy was busy at work before we could leave Gandma's house to head up to the reunion.

Well, here are the pictures from my camera, I know, there aren't that many, but I didn't have it out hardly at all. I just figured I would get copies from Joanna and Mom.

My kids all clean and showered after their baths when we got home, and a lot of black dirty water afterwards. They had a blast though.

In Search of....

I'm in search of a small point and shoot camera. I know I loved Tammy's at the reunion....don't remember what kind it was. Anyone want to tell me what kind they have and what they like/don't like about it??? What would you do differently next time? Thanks

Behind Bars

This little guy was in our garage last night. We finally caught him and took him down to the creek. We live in the middle of Lehi---so it's very strange. Check out my blog for more pics

Reunion

I feel like anything I write about the reunion will pretty much just be a repeat of what was already posted....but I would be ungrateful if I didn't tell Kim & Tammy what a great job they did! Thanks so much for all of the planning, preparation, and hard work you put into it. Especially when the week before the reunion you were playing "SUPER GRANDPARENTS" and having all of the grandkids stay with you. Thanks for everything!

Well this was our fun Saturday afternoon. The rest I have are short movies that I took while Chase, Kim, Grandma Ellis (who chose not to ride with Chase in the pit) played in the dirt pit jumping the Rhino and 4 wheeler. The rest came after us I think a little tuckered out and dirty. We were ready to wash our faces and wade in the stream back at the parking lot. Wow! I can't believe I got these posted! Love you ALL!

Field of Dreams and Grandma enjoying the fragrance of the wild flowers.

Like father, like son, Kim and Chase being the clowns for the day. Our Safari caravan and the mud puddles with blood, sweat, and tears! Not really!

Now for a REAL RIDE!

Dishes, of course, needed to be done before we could go play and little Linzy was the one to volunteer her services so we could go play. Not only was the ride fun, it was beautiful and so peaceful. Chase was our tour guide and Kori was so gracious to let him come while she stayed home and attended a shower given by her family. Thanks Kori, we love you!

More Fun. . .
