In Search of....

I'm in search of a small point and shoot camera. I know I loved Tammy's at the reunion....don't remember what kind it was. Anyone want to tell me what kind they have and what they like/don't like about it??? What would you do differently next time? Thanks

My advise is to go to www.newegg.com and check out the reviews of the cameras listed there in the price range you want to pay for to make a decision. Some cameras have features that you may never care to use. I have a Canon Powershot A570 that I paid around $150.00 for after shipping and a few extra accessories. I really like it. It has video on it too which I like. I really have no complaints. And getting it through newegg - I was able to get a 1GB SD card for cheaper than I could have gotten at walmart. I just can't do anything that isn't digital anymore because of the convenience. I did get a set of 4rechargable batteries from Walmart that I use for the camera. One thing I like though is that it takes 2 AA batteries in the event that mine runs out prematurely and I'm not in a position to recharge fast enough.
I had a Kodak Easyshare before and was pretty happy with it, but the LD screen had problems after a few months and we had to send it back in for repairs. The rechargable battery that came with it kind of died on us too and I wasn't ever able to get it back to what it was when we first bought it.
Good luck!

I have a cannon sure-shot too...Don't know which model.

I know that Chase and Kori have an awesome Olympus point-n-shoot. You'll have to ask them more about it - I know they like it. (and it does some under-water stuff too I think....)

Good luck! I'm looking at getting a new one too because Cory keeps needing mine for stuff and I don't share well :)

I was just going to say you need to ask Joanna, Ashley, and Kori as they are the family photographers and know what they are doing. I'm just an apprentice!

So I will tell you about our Camera: I love this Camera. You can do anything with it. We like to take it swimming and it does underwater videos too... The pictures it takes are great to. And it comes with a great software program to help touch up pictures. Check out www.olympusamerica.com and our is the 770 SW.

SHOCKPROOF (5FT).
Accidents happen — but don't worry! The Stylus 770 SW's durable construction is designed to withstand a five-foot drop, bump, or other mishap, so your camera and images are protected.

WATERPROOF (33FT).
We've combined precision optics with innovative waterproof sealant technologies. Capture beautiful snapshots in the pool, at the waterpark or in the ocean — down to depths of 33 feet (10m) — and even record underwater movies with sound.

FREEZEPROOF (-10°C/14°F).
Here's another reason this camera is as tough as you are. Whether you're skiing in Switzerland, climbing in Canada or just sledding in your own backyard, the 770 SW is winterized to perform at below-freezing temps.
CRUSHPROOF (220LBF).
One tough little camera. The stainless steel body and reinforced LCD makes the Stylus 770 SW able to withstand up to 220 lbs. of pressure, so your camera and images are always protected.

2.5" HYPERCRYSTAL LCD.
Now you can compose, view and share your images even in direct sunlight. The large, high-resolution LCD features a wider viewing angle (140 degrees, left to right or up and down) and anti-glare technology that uses natural light to brighten the LCD.

DIGITAL IMAGE STABILIZATION.
With high ISO sensitivity and faster shutter speeds, you can capture sharp, blur-free images, even if your subject is moving.

MANOMETER.
The Stylus 770 SW features a built-in manometer that measures air and water pressure to calculate the altitude and depth of your photos.

LED ILLUMINATOR.
A built-in LED illuminates your subjects when you can’t use a flash — perfect for shooting macro or low-light portraits.

Have fun Shopping... This would be great for muddy 4 wheeling trips.
