CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations Uncle Jeff and Diane, and Diane welcome to the family!

Been Busy

I haven't been on this blog much to post. We've been busy around here though.

Cory's been working like CRAZY! One night this week he was gone from 7:30 am-1:30 am the next day. Then he got up and was at the shop again at 6:00 am. Busy guy! Last night was the first evening we had him home all week and I think we were all too pooped to even imagine doing anything other than sitting and starring at each other :)

I posted about the new building he's been working on, and the new stuff he's got going on with the business on our personal blog - so check it out here: CORY'S NEW SHOP. I'm pretty proud of him, but look forward to a time when it can calm down a bit....

Have a great weekend everyone!

I Want a Boring Life

hehehehehe.....yep....it's true. I'd like a boring life. One where I can lounge on the weekends and relax....

Spent Saturday at the soccer field (although I DID get to sleep in as long as my body would let me---8:00am...sad I know). Let's see---grocery shopping...which then means clean out the fridge and straighten the pantry day. Picked up 40 lbs of chicken that I had to wash and trim and re-bag for the freezer for $1.39 a lb...love that. Canned 20 quarts of tomotoes, went to the ward party/emergency preparedness fair....decided I better work MORE on my talk...when...yep...got the dreaded call. Devin was in a car accident...I know that's NOT a shock to most of you...we don't know why our family is targeted this much. He seems to be ok...although his back and neck are bad again....we were just trying to get his bills from his other car accident almost 2 yrs ago paid for...so dont know how this will affect that. His beloved first car that he bought/is paying for is most likely totalled. I'll have to try and post a pic. Sad.
Stayed up until midnight after having to run to Provo to pick him up---trying to finish up the dreaded talk :) Thanks for your comments on that.

So....got called to work an extra shift tomorrow---so that will make 30 hours this week for me this week after my 32 hours last week...ugh...not used to so many hours!

So...when is my BORING life coming??? Hopefully soon!

Stefanie's talk

Stefanie,
Well we are all anxious to hear how your talk went today and what good inspiration you gave to your ward. Share with us some insights! Love ya!

Welcome Ellis Bloggers

I took the liberty of inviting more authors from the old family website to join us here. I hope everyone will take some time to visit the first blog and get familiar with the tutorial that Joanna wrote if this is your first time. Hope to see more posts from more family members!!

OK...what I really wanted to know though is .....my topic is on the Blessings of Watching General conference---how does it affect your life--what blessings do you receive....how do you keep the little ones busy---(or even your husband awake. lol)......any thoughts at all on Conference?

Waters Babies

Okay so I had some wrong information. Kaylin May was 6.5 and 19 inches long.

Eldon Hale was born by emergency c-section weighing 5.14 and 18 inches long.

Then of course we can not forget our beautiful little girl Piper. She is 25 weeks old and the joy of our lives.

I wish I could share all my thoughts with you, but I'm realizing this post area is not big enough. Anyway, I admire you mothers in our family and extended family for all you do! I love tending my grandchildren as I feel their spirits and their energy for life. Please don't let this time pass without helping them renew their promise to Heavenly Father/Mother and the Savior before they left heaven. In this hurried and busy life we seem to all share, we may fail to remember that Coming to the Savior is easier than we think it to be. We need to do it more often each day and with more sincerity. What an example you are to your children. Please share your thoughts/feelings on simplifying your lives so we can better serve the Savior today. Love Ya!

Another ASSIGNMENT for family

Okay! A few weeks ago I asked everyone to post their feelings they had of the Savior. I had to put each of those writings in my journal! We have the greatest family and I thank each o f you that contributed for me. I have a lesson to give on Simplifying our lives and Serving the Savior. I appreciated everyone's feelings they shared on how you felt about Christ and what it means to you! You helped me so much and it was such a simple gesture on your parts. Thank you so much! Now I would like to hear how you young mother's and Stefanie (Ha!) how you simplify your lives and/or how you would. This morning I looked back when our children were little and how I did canning, balanced meals, big Sunday dinners, household duties, church callings, service, etc. all in a day! (just joking, I dreamt about doing those things!) Ha! Ha! The thought came to me that the kids were really good to entertain themselves and content with such little things. Today, our little ones have so much to give, it is hard for them to contain themselves. Think about it, they are preparing for the Savior--so much to do in such a short time! All that energy and intelligence to give and being guided as to how to do it by each of you!

Ike Updates

We're fine here in Rockdale. Dad is doing alright at the storehouse in Houston, but will probably be pretty busy. I'm impressed with Mayor White and how he's handling this storm. For an hour by hour update go to my blog.

Addition

Since I seem to be the only Waters that frequently posts or comments here I feel it my pleasure and responsibility to announce the newest additions to our family.
Crystal and Chad welcomed their new baby girl Wednesday Sept 10, 2008. She was 6 pounds 2 ounces and 19 inches long. Her name is Kaylen May Burnside, I am not sure of the spelling.
Aspen and Troy surprised us by welcoming their new baby boy Thursday Sept 11, 2008. Elwin Hale Egbert weighes 5 pounds 10 ounces and is 18 inches long.
Both mothers and babies are doing well, although they both are recovering from C-Section. Crystal had a planned c-section on Connor's birthday. Aspen's water broke this morning and Elwin insisted on coming breach so she ended up in emergency c-section.
This is all the information I have so far except one more thing. If any of you are interested in a trip to Alaska, Kaylen will be blessed around the first part of February. The same weekend as
Samantha's baptism so the family that can come will only have to come once.
When I get pictures I will add them if someone else does not add them first.

Cousins

Ashley's kids were finally able to meet Genevieve (they didn't allow kids under 14 to visit at the hospital, so her kids only got to see V through the window). V already loves her cousins!

We made it

Well, we made it to WA yesterday. Spent the day unpacking. The kids started school today, and Linzy is not letting me do much unpacking this morning. Love you all and thanks for the help cleaning Garrin and Stefanie.

Shout out

Just wondering what eveyone is up to. Mom and Dad popped in last Sunday for labor's day and to escape Gustav. We went to IKEA and window shopped. I started my carpool and tending a 3 yr old a couple of mornings this week. Lily is loving that. I'm loving the carpool - or rather not getting everyone up and ready to run Jessica to school in the morning. Our routine is falling into place. Now if Jhonny could just be home a little more. . .
Let's see Jake gets home in about two and 1/2 weeks from his mission only to turn around and go back for a visit so we probably won't see him for a month when he's giving his homecoming talk and we bless Gavin.
Mandy's pagent is in a week or two. Ginger and Erik found a house and have settled in. Their ward has a coop preschool that they've joined for Rigby and next week Ginger finds out if she's having a boy or a girl. She would probably post herself, but she's still having blog issues -? Can't understand why since it's really pretty easy. . .
I haven't heard from Tanya since the accident and I never really hear from Spencer so ya'll probably could update me on them. How's everyone else doing?
I've officially moved Gavin into his crib this week. He's looking nice and chubby with the cutest dimples when he's happy. Jessica told me yesterday that she assessed as a high reader this week. She's pleased with herself. Lily is well. . .Lily. Keeping us all entertained with her antics. I think now that she has a playmate she won't insist quite so much on moving in with Grandma. Maybe.
