Marcano Family plus Grandma breaking ground for the Logenbough building on the 4th of July.

Lily modeling her new hair cut. A surprise from Aunt Mandy.
We went to a branch breakfast here in Rockdale in the morning. There are a lot of veterans in our branch and so it was pretty patriotic and then we ate pancakes and breakfast burritos.
After that we got ready and headed to Houston to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Ellis! The Copperfield ward just happened to be having a ground breaking ceremony and BBQ for the new chapel (to be built on Longenbough and Park Place for those familiar with the area) so we attended that. It was great to see lots of good friends and catch up. There were 200 people who attended the ceremony from the ward and stake. Brother Miller gave a touching account of carrying a flag across his heart while in Iraq that he presented to the Bishop. Someone made a comment about the soldiers who are fighting to protect our freedom to worship in the church of our choice. After contemplating who is left in Copperfield ward, we came to the conclusion that Mom and Dad are the longest active members living in the ward and Dad is the first living Bishop of the ward, second to Bishop Bartholomew that passed away a few years ago.
After the BBQ, we did some fireworks back at Mom and Dad's house. The next day we went to Mandy's house to go swimming. The girls finally got to jump in the water after the rainstorm passed. We all had a good time relaxing and hanging out with the family.
